Changes.

Most common sentence in casual conversation these days: "I cant believe its 2011 already".

Seriously.

This year has been a whirl-wind for me. After getting engaged at midnight on January 1st, I [unknowingly] entered the most stressful, exciting, and emotional period in my life, thus far. Of course, planning a wedding was super fun...especially because my awesome parents and in-laws so generously chipped in financially [by "chipped in" I mean payed 1/3 each. Thank you!] and still let me have complete creative freedom to construct my dream wedding. Which I did. It was perfect.

Sigh. Gorgeous day. Anyway...

During the process of choosing flowers, colors, and dresses, however, I was unable to prepare myself for the serious changes marriage would bring. I shoved all that nonsense to the back of my mind to deal with after the wedding. So, on October 3rd, I was faced with a few surprises. A new last name? Live with a boy? Give up my pink decor? Joint bank account?

Luckily, I have the most amazing husband in the universe. He's been so patient with me as I take my time getting used to this new period in our lives...He even agreed to fuse our names together and change his, too. I could never ask him to do that, as I want our future children to keep the Cho name going, but its incredibly sweet that he would offer. We still have pink floral bed sheets, mainly because we're waiting to buy new home goods when we buy a house, but I'm excited that I get to keep my beautiful bedroom for a little longer. And as for sharing my money? I get to share his, too, so its a win-win. =)

With all these life changes under control [for now] I'm astonished that 2010 is ending already. Its gone by in a flash of cake tastings and dress fittings.  In a few short days I will be celebrating one year since my engagement. I will be entering the year in my life i finally buy a house, I consider the possibility of having children, I figure out how to cook red meat without calling my mom, and...well, who knows what else is in store for me...I mean us.

One thing I am certain of is that its time for this little girl to start growing up. Its time to prioritize. Put others first. Wake up early. Run a marathon...but I'll save the resolution topic for next post. Until then...

2011? Lets do this.

  1. 2011...the year to grow up? I'll have to think about that one as I prefer to pretend being an adult on the outside and just want to curl up and read a book with my marmie on the inside. Or maybe watch Center Stage or the Devil Wears Prada with a Mimosa, but you get the drift.
I am ready to support this house buying decision as Robby and I have determined that while we may not be able to make it rain, having a house makes us feel wealthy. My vote is of course for Livermore, preferably down the street to make sharing of clothes a whole lot easier. I hope you will take this into consideration while in your search.
    Love, your number one fan
